The teaching collection is a rich and diverse
collection of natural history specimens and
anthropology objects, and digital resource that
supports the American Museum of Natural
History’s education programs for students,
teachers and the public. Since the late 19th
century, the collection has provided a foundation
for discovery, inquiry, and interpretation about
culture, the natural world, and the universe.
Housed in the Education department at the
American Museum of Natural History, The
Gottesman Center for Science Teaching and
Learning is responsible for management and care
of the collection.
